Steady State Giving at SRA
Have you ever heard the term "steady state" used by your rower friend or family member and wondered what it meant? Steady state rowing is simple, satisfying, and the foundation on which rowing success is built. It’s continuous rowing at a consistent pace and effort. Think of Steady State as a moderate jog, slightly inclined hike, or mildly paced swim. The definition from HowToRow describes Steady State workouts as "continuous rowing at a consistent intensity and stroke rate for a set time or distance". This straightforward practice is critical for the performance of a crew—it takes you from training to crossing the finish line on race day.
Just as steady state rowing builds your fitness and endurance, your sustained support for Sammamish Rowing Association makes our organization better. Set your steady state gift and help SRA fulfill our mission to ignite a passion for rowing, encourage development of our members, embrace personal discovery, and celebrate team success. You can learn more and set up monthly, quarterly, or annual steady state gifts here.

Thank you for Supporting Sammamish Rowing Association
Sammamish Rowing Association thrives because of the generosity of our members and friends. We recently completed a successful multiyear, $4 million campaign to build our new boathouse. At our annual gala, members donate tens of thousands of dollars for equipment ranging from boats and oars to cox boxes and ergs. With the help of our donors, SRA sets aside thousands of dollars for scholarships every season to ensure that no one is turned away from rowing because of ability to pay.
A true community organization, SRA has been the beneficiary of extraordinary generosity from public partners such as King County Parks and the taxpayers of the State of Washington. Corporate matching funds are another significant source of donations, and SRA gratefully acknowledges companies such as Microsoft and others who so generously match the donations of our members. SRA welcomes gifts to our general fund that will be put towards the area of greatest need. However, we do have specific funds you can donate to if you'd like to know exactly how your donation is making a difference. On our donation checkout page, simply click the drop down menu under "What would you like your donation to support" and choose the fund you would like to give to. If you would like your gift to go to the area of greatest need, simply choose "General Fund Project". Funds and their descriptions are listed below: Scholarship Fund: Sammamish Rowing Association is on a mission to make rowing a more accessible and diverse sport. It's no secret that our equipment, travel, and various fees and expenses are costly. Financial barriers have unfortunately excluded those who could truly benefit from this life changing sport. With the help of our donors, we set aside thousands of dollars for scholarships every season to ensure that no one is turned away from rowing regardless of income. Donate to our scholarship fund to ensure everyone has an opportunity to row! Equipment Fund: Equipment is an essential part of Sammamish Rowing Association and the sport of rowing. From boats, oars, coxswain boxes, microphones, ergs, workout equipment, riggers, and much more- keeping our equipment inventory full, updated, and expertly maintained is a large expense that is crucial to remaining a competitive rowing organization and providing enough opportunity for all our rowers within our growing membership. A gift to our equipment fund helps immensely! Dock Replacement Fund: Our dock allows us to launch multiple boats at once to get out on the lake quickly and make use of our full practice time during sessions. With a growing membership and fleet, the current size of our dock limits our ability to launch quickly and even causes some logistical issues with summer programs as boats try to go out or come in. The dock is in need of replacement so we can accommodate our growing programs and address safety concerns. It’s easy to give to SRA. Matching Funds & Volunteering
If your employer provides matching funds, please submit your donation to your employer for matching. Employer matching may double or even triple your gift. Since its founding in 1996, SRA has received hundreds of thousands of dollars in corporate matching funds.
Sammamish would not run smoothly without the help of our dedicated volunteers. Some employers also match volunteer hours and make a financial contribution in support of hours volunteered. If your employer has such a program, be sure to submit your hours.
If you have any further questions about donations or volunteering, please contact our Executive Director.
