Parking

Parking Lot Information | SRA

Parking at SRA is extremely limited. Maximizing parking and minimizing congestion requires cooperation from all rowers and rower families.  Please follow the instructions and route map below to make parking, drop-off, and pickup as smooth as possible for everyone. While the instructions below are specific to fall and spring seasons, the general traffic pattern and guidelines for in the parking lot apply to summer sessions as well.

Pick up and drop-off at the boathouse (see map below)

Entering the parking lot for drop-off before practice
  • During fall and spring seasons, parents dropping off rowers before practice may enter the parking lot from the north or south.
  • Pull into the drop-off/pickup line as far as possible.

Entering the parking lot for pickup after practice
  • Parents MUST NOT park at SRA while waiting to pick up. Parents MUST wait off-site (nearby Marymoor Park is a good option) and wait until their rower calls to enter the parking lot for pickup.
  • A rower must already be waiting in the parking lot before their parent can get in line to enter the lot.
  • During fall and spring seasons, parents picking up rowers after practice may enter the parking lot ONLY from the north. This is to avoid congestion with masters rowers arriving for evening practice, who are only allowed to enter from the south.

In the parking lot
  • Pull directly into the pick-up area and move as far forward as possible; the right land is for picking up, the left lane is for pulling through. Do not block the left lane.
  • To park at the boathouse, high school rowers must carpool. A carpool must have at least two rowers in addition to the driver.
  • High school rowers should park in the north parking lot.
  • Masters (adult) rowers should park in the south parking lot.
  • Park close together and do not block anyone in.
  • Be courteous to one another in the parking lot and follow instructions of any SRA staff or volunteer.

Exiting the parking lot
  • Pull forward into the drive-thru lane and proceed to the exit.
  • You must turn right out of the exit. Be careful of bikes and pedestrians coming from either side of the exit.

DO NOT...
  • Do NOT enter from the south for pickup after practice. If you are coming from the south, you must pass the entrance to SRA, turn around, and wait in line in the turn lane to enter from the north. If you try to enter from the south, parent volunteers will turn you away, and you will not be able to pick up your rower.
  • Do NOT enter any parking areas; you must proceed directly to the pick-up and drive-thru lanes.
  • Do NOT park and wait for your child. Parents volunteers will send you away, and you will need to re-enter the line to get in.
  • Please do NOT be rude to our parent volunteers and coaches. They are trying their best to make the parking lot flow as smoothly as possible.

Evening Team (Masters) Arrival

Pulling into the parking lot:
  • On Tuesdays and Thursdays, master rowers may enter the parking lot from the SOUTH only. This is to avoid congestion with parents arriving for pickup after junior practice, who are only allowed to enter from the north.
  • If you are driving from the north, you must pass SRA, turn around, and enter from the south.
  • On Saturdays, master rowers may enter the parking lot from the south or north.

Parking Permit and Fees
  • Rowers who park regularly at the boathouse must obtain a parking permit from Marymoor Park.  Cars without a permit may be ticketed by the park. To obtain a $10 discount off the $100 annual fee, call 206-277-7275 or visit the Marymoor parking office Tuesday or Thursday, 9:30-2:00, and mention Sammamish Rowing Association.  (Discount not available for online permit requests.)
  • Rowers who park occasionally at the boathouse (Learn to Row, Row for a Day, etc.) must pay a $1 fee at the parking kiosk in the south lot.
