LEARN TO ROW 1
Discover the basics of rowing with a mix of land and water training in four classes over two weeks. Participants in this short course will gain insight into rowing and decide if they want to progress to SRA’s more rigorous four-week Learn to Row 2 course. Learn to Row 1 is a mandatory prerequisite for Learn to Row 2. Participants can sign up for both classes at once but must complete Learn to Row 1 before starting Learn to Row 2.
LEARN TO ROW 2
Build on the basics acquired in Learn to Row 2 in this more extensive, intensive course. In eight classes over four weeks, participants will expand their foundational rowing skills on land and water and learn what it takes to row year-round at SRA. After completing Learn to Row 2 and with approval from their Learn to Row 2 coach, rowers will have the opportunity to join one of SRA’s three masters teams. Learn to Row 2 prerequisite: must first complete Learn to Row 1.
After Learn to Row
After successful completion of Learn to Row 1 and 2 and subject to coach approval, rowers are eligible to join one of SRA's masters teams as a novice. Practice switches from two days a week in LTR to three days a week on different days. Check the masters page for schedule details.
After one novice season, rowers can continue with the team and/or choose a Small-Boat Membership to row independently, subject to coach approval.
