Row for a Day (RFAD) is a 3-hour introductory program to introduce youths going into grade 8-12 and adults (age 18 and up) to this unique sport.
Before shoving off the dock in eight-person boats to row on the water, everyone will learn a few basics on land. On rowing machines, you'll learn how to use your legs, body and arms in a sequence to power the boats. In boats held stationary at the dock by volunteers, you'll learn how to get in and out of the boats and how to use an oar. Once the basics are covered, you'll practice your new skills doing team relays on the rowing machines and rowing in eights on our beautiful Sammamish waters. Our coaches and experienced volunteers want you to fall in love with rowing, so expect lots of help and their focus on making sure you have a great time. Watch the Row for a Day video to see what the experience is like. WHO: for adults and juniors going into grades 8 and up unless specified otherwise. DATES
