USRowing National Championships - 2019
SRA is introducing a selective training camp for the USRowing National Championships on July 9 -14. The purpose of the camp and race is to expand training and racing opportunities for Sammamish rowers at the nationally competitive level. The camp will accept 16 boys and 16 girls, as well as 4 coxswains. This camp will differ from our yearly program, as rowers will have more opportunity to train and race in different boats size boats, and race in multiple National Championship events during the regatta.
We are offering this camp for several reasons: first, we believe it will be a tremendous opportunity for our rowers to expand their national-level racing experience – from intense training at home to sitting ready on the starting line at Nationals, this camp will accelerate our rower’s knowledge and broaden their experience in a concise time frame. Second; these camps are offered by other teams across the country. We believe that we can provide our rowers a top-of-the-line camp and racing experience here at SRA.
The 2019 USRowing National Championships will be held July 9-14, 2019, on Harsha Lake in Bethel, Ohio. Camp dates are Monday, June 17 - Sunday, July 14.
Practices will take place from 7:00 -10:00 am, Monday – Saturday, with afternoon land training Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 - 5:30 pm. No practice on July 4.
Most recently known as the USRowing “Club” National Championships, the event will drop “Club” from its title moving forward and be rebranded as the USRowing National Championships to reflect the re-integration of the elite-level race categories. The regatta also will be expanded to six days and will crown national champions in the U17, U19, intermediate and elite/senior categories.
