Meet the Teams
REQUIREMENTS
- SWIM TEST: For swim test form plus FAQs, policies, and resources, click here
- NOVICE PREREQUISITE: successful completion of SRA’s Learn to Row series or the equivalent and approval by Learn to Row coach to join the masters team as a novice. LTR graduates must row a full fall season as novices in order to row throughout the rest of the year. Those who cannot complete fall season but still wish to join the team at a later date will need to repeat LTR at that time.
- EXPERIENCED PREREQUISITE: one full year of novice rowing or coach approval.
FEES - IMPORTANT NOTES FOR SPRING AND FALL
- ADDITIONAL REQUIRED COST: USRowing membership ($25 basic membership or $75 Championship membership required for racing)
- ADDITIONAL OPTIONAL COST: regatta fees. Fees are calculated and billed after each event. Local regattas generally cost $55-$75, although fees vary depending on costs to SRA such as entry fees, trailering costs, coach expenses, etc. Fees for away regattas are higher due to the length of the events and increased costs to SRA. For away regattas, rowers arrange their own transportation and accommodations, which are not included in the regatta fee.
- ADDITIONAL OPTIONAL COST: $100 annual Marymoor Park parking permit
- TOTAL COST OF PARTICIPATION: to see the cost of the combined fall and spring seasons with all regattas included, see Estimated Total Cost.
- PAYMENT PLAN: an optional payment plan is available for fall and spring seasons. Because regatta fees are added to a rower’s balance as they occur later in the season, the balance increases even as the number of months remaining to pay shrinks. Consequently, payments at the end of the installment plan may be significantly higher than at the beginning.

“The other thing that keeps me coming back is having a place to push myself to the maximum- my maximum physically, my maximum mentally, emotionally- just pushing myself and discovering what my limits are. I don’t think I’ve discovered what my limits are. I’ve touched them physically, but I want to keep pushing that and see how far I can go.”
